Santa Maria dei Miracoli and
Santa Maria in Montesanto are two 17th century churches located on the Piazza del Popolo, facing the northern gate of the Aurelian Walls, at the entrance of Via del Corso on the square.
For reference, a plan of the church is available
here.
The twin churches were built on the orders of
Pope Alexander VII after his predecessors had
constructed the
Piazza del Popolo. The first architect was
Carlo Rainaldi, and work was continued by
Carlo Fontana. The church is served by the Priests of the Sacred Heart.
